Next Flight December 17 & 18, 2025

Established In 2008

The World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. was dedicated in 2005 - nearly 60 years after the war ended. A tribute that came late, but never too late. In 2024, Honor Flight Northern Colorado was founded as part of the National Honor Flight Network, with a single mission: to offer every WWII veteran in our region a chance to visit that sacred site of remembrance.

Our first journey took off in 2008, with 123 veterans and 60 guardians aboard. For years, it was powered solely by the hearts of volunteers and traditional donations.

But time doesn’t stand still, and neither do we.

Today, in an unexpected evolution of our mission, many of our veterans take part in something new: experiencing luck, joy, and camaraderie through casino games played in remembrance - not for profit, but as a living symbol of freedom, chance, and the unpredictable path that led them home.

Yes, the very platforms once seen purely as entertainment now serve a deeper role: helping us celebrate life, memory, and the spirit of those who served - through themed events, informational partnerships, and commemorative casino-style experiences that echo both risk and resilience.

What began as a flight to honor the past has grown into a movement that lets veterans test their luck - in memory of all the moments they never took for granted.

WWII Memorial

As the years passed, our mission evolved. We opened the journey to veterans from across the United States, WWII and beyond, as long as they could reach our departure hub and were not already scheduled through another Honor Flight chapter.

Today, we give priority to:

  • Terminally ill veterans (from any era)
  • Purple Heart recipients from any conflict (with documentation)
  • Korean War veterans
  • Vietnam War veterans (currently paused due to backlog - DD214 required)

From the very beginning, our mission has been about honor. That hasn’t changed.

But how we express that honor, and how we support it - has grown in new directions.

Veterans now take part not only in flights to D.C., but in a new kind of tribute: experiencing chance, joy, and reflection through casino-style events and partnerships, where the thrill of the game becomes a metaphor for the risks they once took, and the freedom they fought for.

These moments aren’t about gambling.

They’re about remembering, celebrating, and embracing the unpredictability of life - something every veteran knows intimately.

Through thoughtful partnerships with platforms in the iGaming and casino information space, we’ve tapped into a modern engine of support. Whether through affiliate contributions or casino-themed fundraisers built around memory and luck, we’ve found an unexpected but meaningful ally in the digital age.

Who would have imagined that today's online entertainment world — shaped by risk, reward, and community - would help send our veterans to the memorials built in their name?

Over 2,500 veterans have now made this unforgettable journey - many of them smiling not just from the flight, but from one last game, played in honor of those who never got the chance.

We remain fully transparent: every donation is handled with care under the supervision of the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County.

Because every mile, and every spin of the wheel - is made possible by those who remember what freedom really means.
